Shipping/ Pick-up:
How do you package and ship "Live Rock"?
We ship using the services of an overnight shipping company to ship from our warehouse location to your door.
Our packaging starts with a standard 17"X17"X10" Styrofoam fish shipper and card board box. We then utilize two .003 Mil plastic liners, Styrofoam popcorn, water absorbent towels and 5 pounds of seawater to maintain a suitable environment. We will use heat or cold packs depending on the temperature at the shipper’s hub and customer’s zip code. All seams on the box are taped for an airtight seal. We have shipped our “Live Rock” successfully to destinations throughout the USA, and are very good at it.
Can I pick up rock at your Florida Keys warehouse instead of incurring shipping costs?
We definitely welcome walk in customers but ask that you call ahead to set up the time.

Can you ship to all US locations using an overnight service?
There are still some US locations (zip codes) that cannot receive overnight packages. These zip codes are typically in rural areas or up in the mountains and most of you in these regions already know you have a hard time getting overnight service to your door. One option is to arrange for pick up at the overnight shippers’ facility nearest to your location. Another is to ship to a friend or relative in town. Either way, if you suspect you are in one of these areas, please email or call and we can help make it work for you.
Do you ship outside the US?
No. Our focus is on supplying US markets. Our supply is intended to curb the destruction of reefs in other parts of the world by supplying the needs of our own backyard first. As our source material increases, we will then ship to other locations. We will however establish one supplier per country in our plan for expansion. That company will then deal with the demand in a market that they understand better than we do.
Canadian customers can pick up at DHL facilities this side of the border and drive the rock back across to Canada. Be sure to call and let us know this is your plan so we can send you the appropriate paper work for customs. You do not need to sneak our “Live Rock” into Canada, it is legal.
Does distance change or affect the price of the rock?
Shipping prices are the same all over the US excluding Alaska and Hawaii.
How would the distance affect the die-off?
It will be fine overnight to your door.
When will my rock arrive?
Orders received before 12:00 PM EST Monday through Thursday will typically be shipped the same day. Orders received Thursday PM through Monday AM will ship the following Monday PM.
If I live in Florida, what are my shipping options?
Two ways. You may come to the shop and pick up your rock or we will ship it to you via overnight services.
How is the shipping price calculated?
Shipping is based on weight and is calculated per pound of rock. It is not zone or zip code based. A 40lb order is 40lbs of rock plus water and packaging materials.
Can I use my own account(s) with overnight shippers to have my rock sent to me?
Yes. You will need to contact us for box sizes and the total shipping weight of your order. We will help you arrange payment for rock and packaging at that time.
Are there any price breaks by the weight I order? If so, what are they?
Shipping is calculated on a per pound basis, and is optimized at 40 lb increments. Your best deals are on full 40lb boxes.
